David Lee Gourley

David Lee Gourley, Sr., 70, of Hickory, went home to be with his Lord on August 7, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born June 1, 1946 in Reidsville, NC, he was the son of the late James David Gourley and Thelma Lee Newnam Gourley. He was a member of Omega Faith Ministries and was a retired electrician with the Union Pacific Railroad.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years Marie Gourley; son, David Gourley, Jr and wife Danielle; daughter, Tammie Alexander and husband Kirk; grandchildren, Korrie Alexander, Conner Alexander, Lukas Gourley and Avery Gourley; brothers, George Gourley and wife Dina, Charles Gourley and wife Barbara and Sam Gourley; a number of nieces and nephews and “his fur babies” Julio, Rosa, and Benita.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Pastor Bob Roark officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
