Bobby Lee Cline

HICKORY – Bobby Lee Cline, 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his residence. Bobby was born in Alexander County to the late Moses Uriah and Naomi Ruth Austin Cline on September 6, 1929. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Lois Eckard Cline; sisters Lenabelle Cline Simmons and husband Judd, and Willie Cline Hood and husband Warren; brothers Connelly Joshua Cline, Martin Leonard Cline and wife Ruth, and Larry Eldon Cline. Bobby worked many years for Southern Desk Company, which later became Drexel Heritage. After retirement from Drexel Heritage he started his own business Mastercraft Wood Finishing Inc. as owner operator. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Surviving are his daughters Susan Cline McNeely and husband Tom of Hickory, and Rose Ann Cline Lackey and husband Carroll of Hickory; granddaughters Leigh Ann Lackey, Carol Ann Lackey Haizlip, J. Michelle McNeely Price and husband Clifton and Natalie Marie McNeely all of Hickory; grandson Bryan Carroll Lackey and wife Danielle of Hickory; great granddaughter Olivia Willow Lackey of Hickory ; sisters Violet Cline Deal of Hickory, Patricia Cline Hefner of Taylorsville, Carolyn Cline Hines and husband David of Taylorsville ; brothers William Eugene Cline of Taylorsville, Luther Martin Cline and wife Margie of Taylorsville, Fred Sloane Cline and wife Helen of Asheville; sister-in-law Shirley Cline of Conover and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Catawba Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend John David Bryant officiating. Pallbearer will be Bryan Lackey, Wade Cline, John Whitley, Clifton Price, Gary Lail, and Dane Cline.
