Barbara Ann (Young) Faulk

Barbara Young Faulk, age 80, went home to Jesus peacefully with her loving family by her side on August 20th, 2024 in Hickory, North Carolina. Barbara was born on March 14, 1944 in Catawba, NC. She lived most of her life in Hickory.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Robert Loye and Opal Rowe Young.

Barbara fought a long and courageous battle with breast cancer and was determined to live life to its fullest. She was a loving mother and enjoyed going to the beach, spending time with family and friends and attending Church. Barbara will forever be remembered for her kindness and love and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, John Edmund Faulk. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Huffman (Ken) and her daughter Tracey Propst Henson (Chuck). She is also survived by her nephew Mark Young (Linda), nieces Leslie Fogle (James) and Denise Huffman, her great niece Lauren Young Sweet (Darren) and great nephew Colby Young, stepdaughter Kelly Phillips (Joey), stepson Russell Faulk, step grandsons Hunter and Harper Henson.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her brother Robert Loye Young Jr. and niece Barbara Jo Towery.

A special thank you to her devoted and loving friends and caregivers Pat, Mary and Tammie whom we will be forever grateful.

Services to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Sunday, August 25th. A receiving will take place at Hickory Funeral Home from 12:30-1:45 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Grace Church, 1301 12th St. Drive NW, Hickory, NC 28601.
