Mrs. Anne Cook

Anne Young Cook was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 31, 1936 where she grew up under the love and care of the late Joseph and Marie Young. Anne will be best remembered as a loving wife to the late Eugene Cook, devoted mother to her five children, a beloved aunt, and a faithful friend. Along with being an accomplished bookkeeper, Anne dedicated her life to caring for and loving her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a teacher, a giver and an inspiration to all who knew her. Anne served her family in the best way she knew how, always keeping a fully stocked pantry, dishes of candy, desserts galore and enough food to feed a small army. There was no recipe Anne could not perfect and no story she could not recall. She kept a home filled with love, where everyone was welcome, and no one was allowed to leave hungry or empty handed. She brought joy and comfort to all who surrounded her, she will be thoroughly missed and forever in our hearts.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her siblings, Gilbert Young, Mary Young Ress, Joseph Young, and Robert Young, Her Daughter in law, Latrica Cook, and Her grandson Darrell Glenn Barden.

Survivors include her children, Eugene Cook of Sanford, NC, Brenda Rosenberg of Hickory, Allen Cook and wife Lisa of Conover, Carol Lawrence and husband Loyal of Mars Hills, NC, David Cook and wife Clairissa of Hickory; grandchildren, Ruth Ingham, Monica Smith, Michael Sheffield, Cliff and Eric Rosenberg, Katherine and Madison Cook, Eli Lawrence, Holly Timothy and Jamie Cook; great-grandchildren, Robert Davis, Dakota, Ava and Ayden Sheffield, Danielle, Michelle, Garielle, and Latricia Barden, Kevin and Melissa Rollins, William, Aryel, and Darrell Smith, Sophia Rosenberg, London Cook, and numerous other family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 1 PM at Catawba Funerals and Cremations with Pastor Cauble officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-1 PM at the funeral home.
