Alice "Luenet" Matthews Deal

HICKORY— Alice “Luenet” Matthews Deal, 84 of Hickory passed away peacefully at Catawba Regional Hospice on Friday, April 14, 2017. Born Alice Luenet Matthews in Catawba County on February 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Ida Rhoney Matthews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Avery Wesley Deal; her son John Wesley Deal; her granddaughter Brittany Deal; 4 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her daughter Alice Faye Deal of Bethlehem; her son Lee Deal and wife Sherri of Hickory; grandchildren Tasha, Jana, Trevor, Joey, Katie and Lillie; great grandchildren Emily, Bianca and Abby; and a sister Virginia Leonhardt of Vale. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 3:00pm at St. Johns United Methodist Church with Reverend Tony Matthews and Reverend Jackie Taylor officiating.
