He was preceded in death by his father, James Melton Wilson; and mother, Zana Florence Wilson.
He was survived by his brother, Bruce Wilson (Janet) of Reidsville; niece Erin Wilson of Raleigh; and nephew, Jared McLaughlin of Reidsville.
Alan graduated from Fred T Ford High School. He then attended Nashville auto Diesel College. His last employment was by Olde Hickory Brewery in Hickory as a mechanic.
His grandfather, Robert Bruce Studebaker, worked for the railroad in Efland, NC. This stirred an interest in trains which continued throughout his adult life. Alan later served as President of the National Historical Railway Society of Alexander County for several years. Alan was a true friend to everyone.
To all the wonderful people from Hospice of Rockingham County, the family says a very special, “thank you”. They truly exemplified what Hospice is all about.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church. the family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Dr. John Compton will be officiating the service.
