Barbara Lorraine Frericks

Barbara Lorraine (Riggins) Frericks was born August 7th, 1931 in Burbank California to Collen (Major) Riggings and Frank Leroy Riggins and passed away peacefully at her Apple Valley home with her son Dan by her side on February 28th 2020.

Barbara is the second of 4 children, she is proceeded in death by her Husband (of 68 years) Irvin, her parents, Sister Betty Tackett, Brothers Frank Jr. and Kenneth.

She married Irvin Frericks on January 17th 1951 just before he was deployed to the Korean conflict.

She is survived by her four sons, Daniel Irvin (Jacqueline Ann Norman) of Apple Valley, CA, Kevin Dwayne (Carolyn Provenzano) of Spring Valley Lake, CA, Shawn Kelly (Buffy Marie Neal) of Lindale, TX and Patrick Shannon (Dr. James Rollman) of Apple Valley, CA, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

She worked for Bank of America and 2 Savings & Loans and retired as an Office Manager for Sequoia Montessori School in Hesperia. She also worked as a caretaker of the Santa Monica Girl Scout Camp in Wrightwood, CA, 2 other Camps (Baptist and a Catholic) in Wrightwood, CA, Douglas Aircraft, She was a Local 4-H leader then went on to become the group leader then a Regional County Representative for the State. Barbara loved being around kids and young adults and said her greatest joy was being a stay at home Mom for her 4 boys, she enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting and drawing.
