Paul Francis Traynor

Paul F. Traynor, (75) of Henderson, Nevada, surrounded by Friends and Family, and held in love and prayer, Transitioned to Eternal Life on August 19, 2019. Paul was born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 12, 1943. He earned his Education Degree from Providence College. Paul enlisted in the Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam Conflict. After the war ended, he returned home and entered in the field he loved: teaching. Paul began his teaching career at Mt. Pleasant High School teaching English and Drama where he met Dorothy Phillips. Paul married his best friend, the love of his life, his 'center,' Dorothy (Phillips) Traynor on January 12, 1974. They moved to Henderson, Nevada in the 1980s. Paul resumed teaching in Las Vegas, Nevada where he taught Sociology, and History, but if you ask him what he taught, he always responded, "I teach children." Paul was a teacher for almost three decades. Paul was a devout member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church where he served as a Faith Formation (CCD) teacher for 12 years. Paul loved reading- he was rarely without a book in his hand- he loved target shooting, playing chess, and helping others, but his true passion was his family. His name was Paul, but to many he will remembered most fondly as Dad, Papa, Grandpa.

Paul is survived by his wife Dorothy, and their 4 children and 16 grandchildren:

Son James (Jimmy) and his wife Elizabeth (Beth) Traynor, and grandchildren Stephen, Justin, Kylie, Jaden, and Joshua,

Daughter Tara and her wife Cathy Traynor-Grimes, and grandchildren Kaela, Lindzey, Nick, Caitlynn, Elijah, and Aiden

Son Jeremy and his wife Jaleadeanne (Jalea) Traynor and grandchildren Ivy, Gabriel, Westley, Daniel, and LJ

Son Jacob Traynor and fiance Abigail (Abby) Hoffman

and many more "chosen' children and grandchildren.

On Tuesday, August 27th, there will a time for

Visitation beginning at 4pm, with a

Celebration of Life service at 5:30pm

at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Hwy Henderson, NV 89015

On Wednesday, August 28th, there will be a

Funeral Mass at 9am

at St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church,

204 South Boulder Hwy Henderson, NV 89015

Following the Mass, at 10:30 am, there will a

Graveside Service

at Palm Boulder Highway Cemetery

800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015

Internment to follow.

A Reception will follow at the home of
