Natalie Bernice Jendrewski Abel, age 92, of Henderson, Nevada, went to Heaven, peacefully surrounded by her family in Murrieta, California, on Thursday, July 8, 2021. She was born August 26, 1928 in West Haven, Connecticut to Joseph and Bernice Jendrzejewski, the 5th of six children. She graduated from West Haven High School in 1946.
While working for the telephone company in New Haven, Natalie attended the Stone School of Business. She eventually took a position at West Haven City Hall, working there for many years. She married George "Tikie" Abel, her husband of 53 years, had two daughters and moved to Southern California. Natalie was the head bookkeeper at the Inland Empire West Association of Realtors for many years, where she retired and moved to Henderson, Nevada.
Natalie enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything else. Her home was always filled with laughter, music, great food and where Family Gin Rummy Tournaments were a common occurrence. Natalie was known for her honesty, always saying "I tell it like it is." She enjoyed playing slots at the casino and going on Facebook, keeping up with friends and family across the miles. Known as Mom, Me-Ma, Grandma Nana and Aunt Nanny, Natalie was the heart and soul of her family and will be missed every day!
Natalie was preceded in death by her husband, Tikie; parents: Joseph and Bernice; siblings: Edward, Stephanie, Zigmund and Jennifer; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughters: Deborah (Dennis) and Peggy Sue; 8 grandchildren: Stacey (Todd), Dennis (Rechele), George, Autumn (Matthew), Holly, Noah (Lizzy), Breanna (Steve) and Jordan; 17 great grandchildren: Colby, Shelby, Zachary, Kylie, Jacob, Emma, Madison, Natalie, Chase, Aiden, Hartlyn, Benjamin, Aubrey, Ronni, Austin, Preston and Adam; brother, Joseph; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Natalie will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021, beginning promptly at 10:40 AM located at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005. Natalie will be laid to rest with her husband immediately following the services.
