Michael Edward Tylo, 72, of Henderson, NV., passed away September 28, 2021 in Henderson, NV. Michael was born on October 16, 1948 in Detroit, MI, USA. He graduated from Salesian Catholic High School. Michael went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Wayne State University as well as an MFA in Acting from Wayne State. He met Rachelle Reichert on May 9, 2006, and they married on January 10, 2010 (proudly, Michael’s parents’ anniversary date as well).
Michael (whose close friends called him Mickey) had an outstanding career in film, television, and on stage, and was a proud tenured professor in Film at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he had worked since 2003 and also served as Assistant Dean to the College of Fine Arts. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, the unions of SAG, AFTRA, and Equity, and for years called The Players’ Club in NYC “home”. Michael had a passion for learning about and teaching the history of stage and film as well as watching his beautiful daughters in dance, acting classes, and basketball.
Michael is preceded in death by his beloved mother and father Magaret and Edward (Eddie) Tylo as well as son, Michael Tylo Jr. He is survived by his wife, Rachelle Tylo and two daughters, Kollette (Koko) and Gianna (Gia), as well as daughters Izabella and Katya and stepson Christopher. Brothers and sisters include Mark, Sam, Terri, Alan, and Sara as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at a later date due to Covid.
