Lillian was the oldest child to a loving father and mother, Maceo and Bertha Reaves. She was a wonderful older sister to her 2 brothers; Maceo Jr. and Jerry Reaves. She is survived by 5 children: Cherlynn Aaron, Kevin Womble Sr, Wallace Womble Jr, David Womble Sr., and Thomas Womble Sr., 19 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. illian attended Public School # 6, Eastside High School, Tombrock College and Drake Business College. Lillian worked as a Postal Worker and a Social Worker for the state of New Jersey for 20+ years.
Lillian had two passions in life: writing poetry and helping others. She began writing poetry at the age of 14. She is a member of the Poets Band Society of Newport News, VA and has had poems published in various anthologies. She was awarded 4 Merit Awards and was the winner of The Golden Poet Award for 1988, 1989, 1991, and 1992.
Anyone who knew Lillian knew that she would always provide a hot meal, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on and a good laugh. She always had a great story to tell and a lesson to be taught. So many lives have been impacted by her words of wisdom and her voice of reason. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all of her family, friends, and others who have had the privilege to be graced with her presence.
