Elizabeth Barrett Browning Johnson (nee Roe) lived a graceful life of 62 years and proved that love and kindness can pour comforting light into even the darkest of days. Elizabeth persevered against the formidable foe of Progressive Multiple Sclerosis for more than 30 years. When the angels called her name last week, she danced so freely off this earthly stage and into the waiting arms of her forever peace.
She was called “Dear Elizabeth” by her parents James and Jean Roe, who will greet her in heaven with their boundless love. She was called “Liz” by the love of her life, Daniel. They devoted 42 years of marriage to each other, having met in High School on the Canadian prairies. Dan carried Liz through life with his unwavering love and unending adoration, as she did for him. He will miss her in every future moment; of that there is no doubt.
She was called “Mom” by their son Andrew and their daughter Kristen. She was “Grandma” to their blessed grandchildren, Keian, Andie, Julianna, Cally and Brooklyn. She was called Lizzy, Liz, Lizard, Sis, and oodles of other sibling knick-names by her three loving sisters who will cherish the gift of Liz and spend their lives counting the ways they loved her.
Extended family and friends across Canada and the United States, as far away as the UK and as close as down the street, will remember Liz for the exquisitely beautiful ballerina she was, the skilled and gentle nurse she became, and that girl who never let a single day go by without finding something to smile about.
A memorial service for Elizabeth will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Dr, Henderson, NV 89011, Henderson, NV 89011.
