Donald Ross Livingston, 61, of Henderson, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016, after a five-year battle with cancer. He was born July 11, 1954, in San Antonio, TX. He grew up in Fairview, TX, helping his family raise chicken and cattle and hunting bullfrogs and raccoons. He married his wife of almost 35 years on March 14, 1981. They resided in San Antonio, TX, for several years before Donald moved his family to Las Vegas, NV, in 1990. Donald had worked as a carpenter and then later as a foreman at Greyhound Exposition Services for more than 20 years. Outside of work, He enjoyed outdoor adventures with his family and/or camera in tow and he loved to make the best barbecue that could be found outside of Texas. He had a myriad of hobbies at which he was largely self taught. Among the skills he mastered were reloading bullets, building and fixing computers and repairing and restoring firearms. He enjoyed chatting with people as far away as the CB and Ham radio waves would carry and he was especially proud to have mastered Morse Code and obtained his General Class Amateur Radio License. Some may know him as K7DRL. Donald is survived by his wife, Darlene Kvapil Livingston; daughters, Ashley and Amber Livingston; and brother, David Livingston as well as many extended family members and friends who he loved like family. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Mary Livingston. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Palm Mortuary 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
