David Roger Clark, age 90, of Henderson, Nevada, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, January 20, 2023. He was born in Kennebunk, Maine on July 8, 1932 to his parents Helen and Fred Clark. David graduated from Kennebunk High School, Class of 1951, and enlisted in U.S. Air Force.
David had a long and distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force. Throughout his career he was stationed in many places from Loring AFB in Presque Isle, Maine, twice; Langley AFB in Hampton, Virginia; McDill AFB in Tampa, Florida; to Incirlik AFB, Turkey. In addition, David had also been to Vietnam for a year and various other countries on TDY. Through his hard work and sacrifice, he retired in 1973 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.
While on active duty, August 8, 1959, David married the love of his life, Emma Joyce Lindquist in Kennebunk, Maine. Together, they were blessed with three children; and as the family grew; they were blessed with one grandchild.
After his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, David worked for the Employment Office in Biddeford, Maine with the CETA program. He also worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the Kennebunk Free Library and the Kennebunk Baptist Church. When David officially retired; their home remained in Maine; but, they spent many winters in Deltona, Florida; Biloxi, Mississippi; and Henderson, Nevada. He was a member of the Kennebunk Baptist Church in Kennebunk, Maine; and he attended the Boulder City United Methodist Church in Boulder City, Nevada.
David was a loving husband, father and grandfather; who loved talking politics; especially if it had anything to do with Rachel Maddow; he loved music, especially jazz, and loved to read. He has written a book about theology that he was very proud of. He was a great husband and father and will be sorely missed.
David was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings: Fred, Merton, Veronica and Woodrow. He is survived by his wife, Emma; three children: Bambi Lynn Clark (Sherry); David R Clark, Jr. and Dwight Alaster Clark (Penny); and one grandchild, Jacqueline Clark.
Funeral services with military honors will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:40 AM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Boulder City United Methodist Church Beginning at 11:00 AM, 700 Wyoming St, Boulder City, NV 89005.
