Aurora King, age 82, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. She was born December 26, 1937 in New York, New York to her parents Albert and Petra. Aurora was raised in Spanish Harlem. She had a difficult childhood, but as a young adult she loved to salsa dance, and was excellent at it.
In 1970, Aurora relocated to Nevada. To support her family she worked in the hotel and casino industry for many years in various positions: Cocktail waitress, Bartender, and Blackjack dealer, but retired from Bally's as a Cashier.
Aurora was a loving mother and grandmother, who lived her life for her family. She loved playing Bingo, playing the guitar while singing; cooking Puerto Rican food, and baking for her family. Aurora also enjoyed watching crime TV shows, Betty Boop, and QVC. Aurora had a heart of gold and a smile that could warm your heart; she will truly be missed.
Aurora was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Petra. She is survived by her children: Andrea King (Josh), Susan Russo-Perks (Richard), Steve Russo, Pamela Russo-Ramsburg, and Ralph Russo, Jr. (Be); grandchildren: Maximiliano, Amanda, Madison, Thomas, and Zena; family friends: John Foley and Lisa McIntosh, and her furr baby, Abby Girl.
A Celebration of Life for Aurora will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
