William “Bill” Meyer passed on July 13th in Anaheim California at the age of 91. He had recently relocated with his wife of 67 years to be closer to family after living in Hemet for nearly 30 years prior. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather. Bill was a Navy veteran and had served in the Korean War. He was retired from the Department of Water and Power where he worked as an Electrical Engineer for 25 years. Bill was well known to be quite the handyman. His grandchildren and neighbors thought he could fix anything and often came to him when needing help. He was always there with a smile and advice, and the repair often improved the item to be even better than its original condition. Bill also enjoyed taking care of his home, completing crossword puzzles, and reading the paper to stay informed of all current events. He loved eating his wife’s home cooked meals and frequently bragged about the pies that she had made for him. He was an accomplished craftsman and could make anything to perfection. Bill loved his country and appreciated traveling to see all the amazing sites and landmarks. While in his retirement he and his wife especially enjoyed traveling with the Navy Veteran Cruiser Reunion Group. Bill is survived by his wife Frances Darlyne, son Thomas, daughter Cynthia, grandchildren Amanda, David, Robert and Daniel, and great-granddaughter Sara. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
