Violet Moya passed away on Friday, 11/25/22, less than two weeks shy of her 96th birthday. She was at home, surrounded by loved ones when she passed. Violet was born on 12/7/26 to Nick and Rose Arellano in Walsenburg, Colorado. She married the love of her life and fellow Colorado native, Ernest Moya at the age of 19. Together they raised their 5 children in the Los Angeles area: Jackie, Debbie, Danny, Gary and Michael. Violet is preceded in death by her husband Ernie, her daughter Debbie, her granddaughter Christy, and all of her siblings.
Violet was the proud and devoted grandmother to 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was an honorary grandmother to the many school children she taught how to read. She was an active member of her community with a wide circle of friends. One of her most rewarding jobs was teaching English. She also participated in the altar society at her church, a local Scrabble group and served as president of the local branch of the national embroidery group Split Thread.
Violet will be remembered for her love of learning, her words of wisdom and her kind heart. A celebration of her life will be held at Miller Jones Mortuary in Moreno Valley, CA on Wednesday, 12/14 at 11:30 am.
