She was born on Wednesday, June 19, 1935 in Columbia, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Mack Young and the late Susan Young. She was the wife of the late Robert Craig.
Shirley moved to California from Tennessee when she was 16 years old and married her first husband, Pomer Redfern, at the age of 17. She was married to him until 1970. She married her second husband, Robert Craig, in 1971. They were married until Robert passed away on September 02, 2018. The two husbands, Robert and Pomer, had a good relationship and liked to refer to each other as husband-in-law.
She was always fun to be around and up for doing anything. She enjoyed collecting antiques and going antiquing. Shirley also loved cross-stitching, she made several decorations for each season, whether it was Christmas, Easter or the 4th of July she had her house completely decorated with her cross-stitching projects.
Shirley and Robert liked to take drives to Idyllwild and going sailing with their friends to Catalina or just spending time on their friends’ boat that was docked for a weekend.
Surviving are daughters, Brenda Parson, Paula Chihara, sons, Brad Redfern, Brent Redfearn, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Craig, sisters, Billy Dean Young, Wilma Dodson, Fran Noble, brothers, Carl Young, Stan Young, Robert Young and Murry Young.
Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA with her husband.
