Roy (Dave) Ramsey

Dave is predeceased by his parents, James and Peggy Ramsey. Dave is survived by Shelley, his loving wife of 32 years. He is lovingly remembered by his son Brandon, daughter Emily, and daughter-in-law Lisa. He also leaves behind three sisters, Carole Lee Ramsey, Sandee Crowe, Laurie Willhide, and two brothers, Charles Reed and Wayne Slayton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his adored Grand dog Jacob as well as other family and friends. Dave was born at Fort George G. Meade in 1953. He worked as a sound engineer and security, but the job he loved the most was working as a Unit Supply Specialist and Track Vehicle Repairer for the US Army. He served for 22 years. He enjoyed model trains, was a plane enthusiast and loved to travel. He volunteered for the Army homeless program as well as the honor guard detail. He also volunteered for many years at Jerry Pettis VA hospital where he was fondly nicknamed “Sarge”. The visitation will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 23618 Sunnymead Boulevard, Moreno Valley, California on July 1, 2021 at 11:00am. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00pm officiated by Pastor Vince Sarfraz. Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, California at 2:00pm. A reception will take place at the VFW Post 8547, 22616 Alessandro Boulevard, Moreno Valley, California 92553 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
