Robert Eugene Starner, age 90, of Sugarloaf, CA, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014. Robert was born May 17, 1924 in San Bernardino California. He was the son of the late Harry Lloyd Starner and the late Hilda Ann (Trenery) Starner. Robert served our country proudly in the Navy during WWII, obtaining a Victory Medal , American Theatre and Good Conduct. After getting out of the service he started working with Southern California Gas Company for over 35 years. Robert was a founder of the Immanuel Baptist Church in San Bernardino. Other than his family, his church and his job he lived a simple, quiet life and was a happy man who smiled and laughed often and loved to tell jokes to make others smile. He was an avid golfer and he also liked to go bowling.
He is survived by his children Beverly Starner,Phyllis Breshears,Mary Shaeffer, two brothers, Harry L. Starner Jr., and John A. Starner, 13 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
