Robert William Severns, Jr., 81 of Hemet, CA passed away early Monday morning, February 26, 2018 . He was born on Friday April, 10, 1936 in Fullerton, CA to the late Robert and Doris, Severns, Sr. Growing up on the farm out in Sage and doing those chores, to Hemet and selling a car to almost everyone in town, to inspecting properties for the Family insurance business, and finally enjoying retirement his way.
Dad has a voracious love for the outdoors, especially hunting deer and shooting trap. Whether it was in Idaho or here locally, he has never met a deer or clay pigeon he couldn't conquer. He also loved his family very much and was and greatly appreciated the love of "the deal". Whether it be a car, a gun, or a senior discount, he maximized those opportunities every chance he got.
He was involved in the car business for 32 years, starting Riverside and after 2 years coming to Volkswagon in Hemet. He also shared his time in the car business at Toyota and Villa Honda. Afterwards, he became Gerrys' official property inspector with her State Farm business. Once his work years were done, mom had passed, he met a very wonderful lady who became his wife, Janet is blessing beyond words can express and they enjoyed trips to Spain, Alaska, and California, as she cared and loved Dad until the end.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Gerry Severns. He is survived by his loving wife Janet Severns, sons, Robert W. Severns III (Heather) and Jon E. Severns (Kristy); brothers, Tom Severns (Linda) and Jon Eric Severns (Gale); sister Susan Simpson (Don); 5 grandchildren, Dalton, Allison, Zac, Skyler, Hannah. Maya & Dan Williams & family, Blair and Ruth Templin and family, Brian and Editha Templin and family, Dan and Christy Templin and family: Beloved Uncle to countless nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 10:30am on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Valley Free Evangelical Church, 341 N Lake St. Hemet Ca. A funeral service will at 11:00am. Please join us in celebrating Bob's life by wearing your favorite Hawaiian shirt ! The graveside service will be on private on Monday.
