Born Wednesday, March 2, 1927 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Callisto Grimaldi and the late Adriana (Ricci) Grimaldi. She was the wife of James Yacobucci. Lucy met Jim at a party after he returned from serving in World War II with the U.S. Navy. Jim and Lucy were married for 72 wonderful years.
Lucy loved taking care of her family. All four daughters say there are no words to describe how blessed they feel to have had Lucy as their mother She was a dedicated homemaker and a spotless housekeeper.
Volunteering was one of Lucy’s passions. She volunteered at Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio. She worked the polls on Election Day, and she would go door to door around her community for political candidates she supported. Every year, Lucy also volunteered at the World Series of Golf Tournament. She also enjoyed going to the movies.
Surviving are husband, James Yacobucci, daughters, Carla Yacobucci, Marcia (Larry) Taylor, Lisa (Mike) Krumbein and Marisa Yacobucci; sister, Helen DeCarlo and grandchildren, David, James, Marisa, Sophia and Joey.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
