Lisa was born the third child to Raymond and Elaine Mendoza on April 25, 1969 in Long Beach, CA.
During her high school years Lisa worked at Wicks & Sticks where she found a love for candles. Lisa graduated from Westminster High School in 1987.
Shortly thereafter Lisa began working at the Home Depot as a Line Manager until 1993. Lisa would eventually find her “forever home” working for the Sports Authority from 1993 until they closed their doors in 2018. Lisa was an exceptional employee and mentor to her co-workers. She was an outgoing, friendly, and cheerful person. She had a passion for the hustle and bustle of retail and formed the most unforgettable friendships with her Sports Authority family!
This is where she would meet her future husband, best friend, and the love of her life Mike in 1996. Lisa and Mike wed on May 18, 2002. Together they had two daughters and one son, in addition to Lisa’s son and daughter from a previous marriage.
Lisa was a lover of many things but she had an incredible talent for crafting, a passion for music, and a pleasure for a good book! Lisa loved her family like no other. She took much pride in watching her children do what they were passionate about. She spent many weekends and Friday nights watching her daughter Abbie perform in the band. She loved seeing the creative art that her daughter Olivia would make and admired her special talent. She loved cheering on her son Carson during his golf tournaments requesting an update after every hole! She especially loved the day her son R.J. made her a grandma.
Lisa will be remembered as the most amazing wife, an incredible mother, a wonderful grandma, sister, aunt, and very best friend. She was full of humor and had the most infectious laugh followed by the brightest smile!
Lisa is survived by her husband Michael Escobedo; her sons R.J.(Jen) Scott, Carson Escobedo; her daughters Abigail Escobedo, Olivia Escobedo, and Rayanna Scott; grandsons Cole and Casey Scott; and doggo Rocket. Lisa is preceded in death by her best friend Becky Bristow Cooper.
A celebration of life is tentatively scheduled for August 1, 2021 in Temecula, Ca. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rose Again Foundation Temecula and the National Cervical Cancer Coalition.
