Lit a candle in memory of Librada A Galao

Librada Galao was born in the Philippines on the 1st of December 1944. She was married to her schoolmate, Benjamin Galao, during high school, for 56 years. Together, she gave birth to seven children. Three boys, with one passed away at the age of three, and four girls. 
She is a housewife, manage small her business, and assist her husband with minor tasks at the farm. At 2003, she arrived at the United States with the help of her daughter, Aurora Gray. While in the U.S. she enjoys shopping and going to places such as San Francisco. Unlike the Philippines, where the sweltering humidity mingled with the radiating heat from the sun, San Francisco brings forth the cool gentle breeze that eases all thoughts of farm labor. 
On the other hand, being at home made her feel homesick. At that time, not all her family are in United States. In addition, she loves visiting her grandson and granddaughters back home. Therefore, to alleviate feelings of nostalgia, she makes it a habit to travel back and forth overseas.
As she got older, her health condition declines. She had arthritis, which made it difficult for her to hold objects, gotten skinny due to appetite loss, and had heart problems. Rather than making trips overseas, she must make trips to the doctor. Unfortunately, her condition worsens and was placed on tracheostomy in hopes to improve her condition. Yet, nothing could be done to enrich her quality of life. She went home with the Lord on the 2nd of May 2021. Her last words to her family members were to take care of her younger daughter Mary Jean Galao.
