Julian “Crockett” Welmas, passed away on Friday December 06, 2019 at his home on the Soboba Indian Reservation. He was born on February 10, 1956 in San Diego, California, and was a tribal member of the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel. Crockett married Elaine and spent 24 wonderful years together after meeting through mutual friends David and Weegie Modesto on the reservation. Together, Crockett and Elaine raised a beautiful family. Crockett worked in maintenance in various places and on Soboba Public Works Crew. He was very proud of his native culture, his favorite day of the week being Monday sweat night in Pauma. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Crockett is survived by his wife Elaine Welmas, his children, Jays (Lori) Welmas, Shawtae Womack, Martin (Denielle) Womack, Mack Womack, Del Alto, Kika Hernandez and DelLaura Welmas, his sister in law Peggy, brother in law Wayne, and 15 grandchildren . Memorial service will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet on Friday December 13, 2019 at 6pm.
