I met Juanita in 1972 almost 50yrs ago we met at la Puente Bowling Alley we bowled together for many yrs she was a very good Bowler she won most of our teams she all so bowled with my mom & that was not easy my mom was a bad bowler but Juanita was very kind & always smiled we also were on teams with our husbands  i use to take her to the race track she never bet 1 horse she would spend her money on cookies while i lost all my money . we also had cook outs at my house i had a pool so everyone would come to our house we had so many good times i miss you Juanita & i no you are looking down on all of us pain free & waiting for the rest of us your friend forever DONNA SIMMONS

Lit a candle in memory of Juanita Jean Mattson

This Wonderful lady was my classmate at Williamsfield High sorry to hear of her passing!!!!

I met Juanita in 1964 when I was 13.  I was so happy for my Uncle to have found her.  I remember him visiting my Mother and talking to her about how he wanted to meet someone that he could be happy with.  I remember hearing them from my room talking at the kitchen table about this and I was hoping he would find someone also because I knew he was lonely and I wanted the best for my Uncle because he deserved it.  He has a gentle soul and very happy ALL the time.  I was so happy when Uncle Al brought Aunt Juanita to meet our family,  You could see how happy they both were and I knew they were going to be very happy together because she also had a gentle soul and was always smiling.  They were like 2 peas in a pod and always reminded me of 2 love birds.  Every time I visited them it was the same as back in 1964 even recently when we went to visit them.  Not everybody is blessed that way.  While my Uncle is understandably heartbroken right now, he was lucky enough to have 57 plus years with his soul mate, what people only wish for.  Aunt Juanita was a beautiful woman with a gentle soul who raised 4 great boys and put her life into her family.  I will miss her.

I first met Juanita in church on September 8, 1963.  Her brother in law's Aunt Hazel introduced us. I thought, "My, what a pretty lady."  Being Ex-Navy, I went full steam ahead to try to convince her that I would take care of her the rest of her or my life.  I had prayed earlier that God would send me someone that I could spend the rest of her or my life together.  When we got married in December, I was the happiest man in the world.  Four boys would follow and three of them that live not too far away with families of their own have been a blessing.  We were so compatible.  We laughed at the same things and we never had a bad word between us in all those fifty seven years and four months.  I had made a vow and would have never mistreated her.  If I had, God probably would have punished me very severely.  She had two severe strokes and more recently surgery.  All those things were just too much for my wonderful wife and she had to bid us farewell.

Goodbye sweetheart,  I hope to see you again in heaven.

Juanita and I met when we were seven in Williamsield grade school.  I often visited her at their farm.  She taught me so much about having the courage to go out into the world and explore.  We also entertained one another with nothing but our imaginations, oten using cardboard cutouts and a flashlight.  I was able to visit her in the hospital in Peoria whie she was still recovering from polio.  It was fabulous when they were able to visit us in Grand Forks, ND.  Nothing but lovely memories!!

Mom was an Angel. She sang like one!  Mom taught me how to love, believe the best in people, and to cherish relationships. Most importantly, I have faith in Christ today because of her faith and influence on us as children. I miss you, Mom. Rest in His ever-loving peace.
