Joy M. Ward, of Hemet, California passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. She was born on October 9, 1923 in Portland Oregon to the late William and Marie Walker. Joy was married to the love of her life, Bill Ward for over 66 years before he passed away in 2008. Joy was very active in the civic affairs for the City of Hemet. She was on the founding board for the Hemet Library and was part of the movement to collect donations to build the new library. Joy was a member of the Republican Women's Association serving as President and on the Ways and Means Committee. Joy attended all the Hemet City Council meetings with Bill and sat in the front row and spoke many times as a concerned citizen of Hemet. She supported the Hemet Police and Fire Departments local control and saw the benefits for local paramedics. Joy also was a volunteer for The Ramona Pageant and participated in may roles throughout out the years. She attended faithfully the Calvary Chapel Church in Hemet. Surviving are her sons, Gary Ward his wife Karen of Temecula, and Paul Ward of Lakeside, 1 granddaughter, 3 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
