Jerry Radford Bybee, 85, of Redlands, California, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Redlands Community Hospital in Redlands, California. He was born in Redlands on Wednesday, March 16, 1927 and always had a special place in his heart for Redlands. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army. His employment, as a Field Engineer for General Telephone lasted for almost 20 years in many places in California, moving on average of at least once every two years. On leaving the Telephone Company, he worked as a Field Engineer Independent Contractor doing work in the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Ohio, and many places in California for at least another 20 years. He said many times that he was lucky to be able to have a job that he really enjoyed! Driving his family in a blue and white VW Bus to a camping site always made him smile. He loved animals, especially dogs. Jerry introduced caring for livestock and going to Horse Shows with his girls. He was pretty handy when it came to building pens for the animals. He enjoyed supporting the Hemet High School drama program while the girls were in high school. His family describes him as social and a dreamer. He definitely liked to share his opinion and was not worried if anyone disagreed with it.
Surviving is his wife, Patricia Bybee, ex-wife, Natica Anderson, his daughters, Debbe Graves (Jim) of Bermuda Dunes, Kim Sallee (David) of Hemet, four grandchildren, Amy and Heather Graves and Skylor and Drew Sallee, and two great-grandchildren, Tisha and Alita Rodriguez.
