Jean Marie Hampton passed away on April 29, 2022. A California native, she was the first born to her parents Clarice and Glenn Hoffman on April 24, 1943. She is survived by her mother, brothers and sisters and their families, two daughters and two grandsons. Daughter Shirley (Mims) and her husband Charley reside in Los Angeles. Daughter Lesley (Lipskin) and her husband Danny live in New York with their boys Jake and Sammy.
Influenced by the 1960s, Jean was a strong-willed and independent woman. While living a simple and private life, she had a stylish flair. A passionate lover of music and prose, she reveled in the sounds of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, 50’s beBop, Ottmar Liebert and others. Ever opinionated, she had interesting conversations with those who liked to talk about philosophy and politics. She followed an accounting career in a variety of businesses until her retirement in Hemet where she lived for the last 35 years. Cats were a large part of her life. She liked eating out at local restaurants and especially enjoyed hamburgers and vanilla shakes (as seen pictured here). Gentle and kind, she was affectionately known as Jeanne and will be sorely missed by her friends, neighbors and family.
Her family is grateful to her doctors and caregivers and to the medical community in Hemet and surrounding areas for their compassion and care.
