Surrounded by loving family, Gerald Leroy Tripp, 84, passed away on October 29, 2020 at his residence in Menifee, California. Gerald was born on February 18, 1936 in Metamora, Ohio to his wonderful late parents John Frank Tripp and Mildred (Coppus) Tripp.
On November 25, 1964, Gerald married the love of his life Mary Ruth Tripp who he met in Bermuda and whom he spent fifty one amazing years with. Gerald was a retired Veteran from the U.S. Navy where he served for twenty-three years. He served in Vietnam where he was a part of a special squadron called VAH-21. During his time in Vietnam he received a special medal of honors. He spent several years working as a general contractor running his own company with his son Ronnie. He finished out his career working for CalTrans for twenty years as an Electrical Superintendent. Gerald also received an honor from the State due to his work with CalTrans. Gerald was a man who always carried a smile on his face no matter what he was going through. He was generous, kind, loving, selfless, and giving and such a hard worker.
Gerald is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Ruth Tripp, his sons; Ron Stewart, Terry Tripp and his sister Edith. He is survived by his beautiful daughter Debbie (Vinny) Warlick, his beautiful granddaughter Aimee (Ryan) Kolt, his grandson Christopher Boyle, and two amazing great grandchildren Dakota and Khloe. He is also survived by his siblings; Jim, Suzie, Bill, Richard, Mary, Bob, Pat, and Tim. Gerald was an amazing soul who was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he will truly be missed.
