She was born to Alva Eugene Clarence Lucas and Opal “Jo” Josephine Lucas (Huff) on Friday, September 8, 1939 in New London, Ralls, Missouri. She spent her childhood in Missouri until the family moved to Oregon. She graduated from Hood River High School in 1957. She then moved with her family to Southern California. In 1998 she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. After years of taking a class here and there she graduated from Tulsa Community College on May 6, 2005 with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked for Tulsa public schools as a paraprofessional until she retired in 2017. She then moved back to California.
Carol is survived by sister, Cheri Dean; daughters, Jan Kennedy Ayotte (Mark), Linda Ramay, Victoria Haddock; sons, Christopher Ramay and Vernon Haddock (Kelly); grandchildren Leah Carpenter (Shawn), Brandon Richardson (Crystal), Tim Ayotte (Cathy Jo), Amy Bowers (Reuben), Robert Sloan, Melissa Mann, Jessica King (Aaron), Lucas Doyle (Savanna), Delaney Doyle; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, Alva and Jo Lucas; brother, Larry Lucas; husband, Junior “Bud” Huffer; son, Ian Haddock; and grandson, Ryan Barkley.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1151 Park Avenue, San Jacinto, CA 92583, with viewing at 10 am followed by service at 11 am. While flowers are welcome, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made to Valley Community Pantry (vcpcares.org), which is an organization that our mother regularly donated to here in our valley.
