Bonnie Que Harris, age 96, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020. She was born April 12, 1924, in Monticello, Arkansas. She was in many organizations; Daughters of Isis, in Kansas City Missouri, Koran Court #37, Alice M Brown #40, Easton Star. Bonnie attended Ward Chapel AME Church for 50 plus years, in Kansas City Missouri. She owned a night club in Kansas City, being the first black lady to open a lounge (Bonnie’s Blue Lounge) but when she was not busy attending all her organization or business she loved entertaining, and cooking for her family and friends. Her favorite color was Red and loved her Roses. She is preceded in death by her Parents George and Carella Harris, her three brothers and seven sisters. She is survived by her loving daughter Vashti Hawthorne of Menifee, CA and granddaughter Brigitte Hawthorne of Huston, Texas, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We will truly miss our Bonnie and her wonderful spirit, “What you say”?
