I am sorry to hear of the passing of my mentor and Program Director of Surgery . Dr Schwartz was someone I looked up to throughout my residency at St Barnabas Hospital. He generated a calm confidence .  He was the one who got me interested in Vascular Surgery. I owe my career to him, and I thank him. He will be missed by the countless residents he nurtured. Well done Ken.

I was a colleague of Ken’s for over 30 years.I was aware of his illness early on through talking to him and reading his imaging studies.I was shocked and saddened but he handled his illness with his usual calm confidence.He was the ultimate mensch .He was always so kind to me and mentored me throughout my career.May his memory be a blessing
