William "Bill" Ryan met his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 18, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the service will start at 2:00 p.m. officiating the service will be Dr. Gevan Spinney, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Haughton, Louisiana.
Born on December 4, 1958 in Benton, Louisiana. He was the son of Robert "Bob" Ryan and Mildred Bystedt Ryan. Bill grew up in Benton, Louisiana, and graduated from Benton High School. He worked in the printing business as a press man, which carried him from Benton, Louisiana to Marshall, Texas and Daphne, Alabama before retiring in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2008. Bill loved nothing more than spending time with his family. His granddaughter Layla, which he affectionately called "Pretty", was the apple of his eye. He loved hanging out with his dogs, Buster, Cinderella, and Ticket. And he loved baseball and football, and was partial to his Cowboys. To know Bill was a privilege. He was a sweet and loving man. He always looked for the positive in everything, when he could have easily used excuses not to. He will be greatly missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Ryan Charchio. He is survived by the love of his life for 27 years, Penny Beason Ryan; son, Billy Ryan; stepdaughter, Lauren Tilley and husband, Todd; granddaughter, Layla; brother, Bo Ryan and wife, Renee; sister, Maureen Ryan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
