Delores, Rosemary, Doug & Jeff: I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I have many wonderful memories of visiting with them as a child & teenager. My parents, Arthur (Cliff) & Tru Dell (Trudy) Mullen were good friends with them. My mom was best friends with your mom when they were kids growing up in Kisatchie. I talked to your dad about eight years ago, when he called to tell me that he would be unable to come to my dad's 80th birthday party. I so enjoyed talking to him & sharing memories of my childhood. He & your mom will always hold a very special place in my heart.

I was lucky enough to know Mr Hillman through our VFW post.   He was a good volunteer and a very nice guy.       david condra

Bill was a volunteer extraordinaire for American Legion Post 388 for many years. He will be missed by all who knew him. Our sincere sympathies to the family.  May Bill rest in peace.

The Final Salute

Brothers in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another. 

This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to William W. (Bill) Hillman our Brother in Arms, Fellow Legionnaire and VFW Comrade.  To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Bill.  And to Bill it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S Army and for his many years of dedicated service to the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.   Bill, you were a dedicated worker, a wonderful comrade and a strong supporter of the American Legion and the VFW.  We bid you adieu and a sad farewell.  You will be dearly missed from among our ranks.  Be at Ease.  Rest in Peace.

I will always remember  Mr. Bill as a good neighbour and loyal friend, especially to my grandmother, Hazel Waters. My condolences to the family, and may warm memories be your  comfort, along with the knowledge that he is enjoying a happy reunion with Mrs. Robbie.

I am so sorry for the passing of Mr. Hillman. I played dominos with him on many occasions at the Veteran's Home. He will be missed greatly.

He met my dad and became fast friends and fishing buddies whenever he visited us in Louisiana. I don't think he ever met a stranger. He was always kind to me. He was a wonderful papaw to my grandsons. He gave them great memories and unconditional love. They will cherish him always.
