Robert "Bob" Evern Brewer was born January 13, 1940 in Waynesboro, Mississippi.. He was the fourth of six children to born to Wash E Brewer and Maude Hudson Brewer. He was 16 when he left home to start his life. During his travels he lived in Biloxi MS, New Orleans LA, Mobile AL, Shreveport LA and Vicksburg MS. In 1963, he was drafted in to the US Army and he met Mary Perry whom he married on December 21, 1963. For the next two years they resided at the army base in Fort Campbell, KY and that is where their first child, daughter Tracy Lynn was born. After serving two years they moved to Bossier City, LA. His brother, Cecil W Brewer, lived in Shreveport and helped him get a mechanic job at Moffet Volkswagen. When Cecil moved to Duncan Volkswagen so did Bob. In 1967 Bob and Mary had their second daughter, Donna Sue. In 1969, Bob and Mary moved to Dixie Inn, Louisiana and Bob started his own automotive shop called Dixie Automotive Center. His automotive shop was in Minden, Sibley, and the last place was Princeton. Bob has always had a fascination of cars.Over the years he has own many different cars. He loved car racing. During the 1970's Bob raced cars on the dirt race tracks. He has raced at Boot Hill Speedway, Webster Speedway and Hilltop Race Track. He loved watching Nascar races and NFL.
Bob loved his family and his friends. If you knew Bob, you knew he had a good sense of humor. He was always making people laugh.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil W Brewer of Shreveport LA; sister, Catherine Dunnam of Richton MS; sister, Edith Brewer of Waynesboro MS; and sister, Zella Nelson of Chelsea OK. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Tracy Simmons and husband Chad of Haughton, LA and daughter, Donna Wilson and husband Jim Wilson of Bossier City, La., grandchildren Dayton Simmons and Chelsea Wilson; his brother, Pettis Brewer and wife, Jean of Petal, MS; along with his many nieces and nephews from Oklahoma to Alabama.
Services to honor Bob's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
