Rita Jane Campbell, age 76, of Talihina, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her mountain cabin on Sunday, November 26, 2023. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on Thursday, December 12, 1946 to the late Jesse Dae and Margie Juanita Methvien Campbell. She had a love for children and decided late in life to obtain her Bachelor's of Arts and Sociology at the University of Texas in Tyler where she carried out her career as a Social Worker.
Rita had an amazing ability to play any instrument she put her mind to; including the piano, guitar, autoharp, and accordian just to name a few. Her natural ability to sketch whatever she saw was uncanny.
She was preceded in passing by her parents and one great-grandson, Landon Willis.
Left to cherish Rita Jane's beautiful memories are her children: daughter Donna Arlene Faber Huff and husband Michael, son Karl Adam Faber and wife Cheryl; six grandchildren: Darrick Young, Travis Young, Tiffany Willis and husband Jared, Alek Faber and wife Andrea, Kamryn Faber, Dawson Faber; eleven great-grandchildren: Tristyn Young, Christopher Young, Jonathan Young, Kaydence Young, Valerie Young, Brayden Willis, Colton Willis, Travis Young, Anslee Faber, Aden Faber; two siblings: Raymond Campbell and wife Mary Catherine, Ricky Campbell and wife Debbie, nephew David Ray Campbell and wife Jennifer, niece Jessica Campbell, along with many extended family members and numerous wonderful friends.
A visitation for Rita will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM until time to Celebrate Rita at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
Honoring Rita as pallbearers will be her brothers: Raymond Campbell, Ricky Campbell, grandsons: Darrick Young, Alk Faber, Kamryn Faber, and Dawson Faber.
Rita Jane had a love for nature and lived completely off grid on the mountains of Oklahoma before purchasing a small cabin. Her wish was to live out her last days on her mountain where she passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Rita will be laid to rest in Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
