Phyllis was a very trustworthy, faithful, and true friend. At times she could be too truthful. (If there is such a thing)
After she and Dick married she worked for different fashion stores in and around Bangor, Maine.
In 1968 she, Dick, and Denny moved to Bossier, settled in and bought a home. She briefly worked for the fashion then she went to work at Western Electric and upon Dick’s retirement from the air force he too went to work at W.E. both retiring at the same time.
With her hobbies being only bowling she felt like she needed something else. Besides her church, which she was very committed being their greeter for years and making lifelong friends like Glynda and Jim Draper who she also bowled with, Arlene Rhodes, Linda Helms and Ken with wife who helped so much in her last years. She was also devoted to her line dance team win instructed by Ellendll Harbour even as she lost a bit of her vision. Evelyn Winn, Sally and Clem Caffey would also bring her beanbag baseball team every Tuesday making several home runs in this year’s senior games and never missing a game unless her health was bad.
She and her son Denny loved to go to the boats to play the penny machine. She was very devoted to her son and loved him dearly.
Her longtime neighbors Pat and Jan Shaw helped her with tasks around her house. Very good friend! She also looked forward to her cousins’ visit. Living in upstate N.Y, Marlin and Chris took her and Denny to the boats whenever they visited, all sharing a love for the excitement and thrills of gaming together.
To all who knew her she was quite a character, full of life, never complaining but giving you a piece of her mind when she thought you needed it. We will miss you Phyllis.
