Oscar Wayne Lee, 76, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on May 16, 2023. He was born in Many, Louisiana, on April 4, 1947. Oscar grew up in Florien, Louisiana, and graduated from Florien High School. He received his Bachelor of Science from Northwestern State University and his Master of Arts from Louisiana Tech University.
Oscar met Karen Cuny of Winnsboro, Louisiana in college, and was married on April 4, 1969. He was drafted into the Vietnam War, and for the next 20 years he had a career as an Officer, Pilot, and Flight Instructor for the United States Air Force. After retiring from military service, Oscar served as a civilian contractor at Barksdale Air Force Base. Beyond his service to the Air Force, Oscar's highest calling was learning and teaching the Bible to everyone who would listen. He was an ordained Minister and Deacon, and served many churches throughout the country as Pastor and Sunday School teacher. His biggest passion in life was helping to teach and disciple followers of Jesus.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Karen of Bossier City, Louisiana, and his two sons, Jonathan Lee and wife Beverly of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Benjamin Lee and wife Lindsey of San Francisco, California. He has six grandchildren: Courtlyn Ratliff, Caragan Wagar, Cameron Lee, and Caroline Lee, all of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Connor Lee and Alexander Lee of San Francisco, California. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Keaghan Ratliff, Kendlyn Ratliff, and Barrett Wagar, who is currently awaiting the birth of his new brother or sister. Oscar is also survived by his sister, Debra Lucius, and brother, Benny Lee, both of Florien, Louisiana.
A visitation for Oscar will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
