Monroe worked in construction for many years. He owned his Roofing Company and had several man crews. They worked all over the United States. Monroe had a great personality, he never met a stranger. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved to piddle with old vehicles and just about anything. He loved the outdoors and grilling. He was a great cook.
Monroe was preceded in death by his father and mother, Elmer and Laverne Rivers; brothers, Johnny Ray Rivers Sr. and Mike Rivers; and sister, Sue Rivers. He is survived by four sisters, Elaine Rivers, Judy Hershiser and husband Johnny, Annette Phelps and husband Scott, and Margie Heggins; one brother, Patrick Rivers and wife Stacy; one son, Brian Malmay; three daughters, Brandie Litton, Bridgette Litton, and Ashlee Guidry; step-daughters, Kelly Peyton and Shelly Carey; his previous spouse/loving friend, Debbie Rivers; along with a host of nephews, nieces, and grandchildren that he loved.
Monroe was dearly loved by his family and friends, he will be greatly missed.
Graveside services for Monroe will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Zwolle City Cemetery, Zwolle, LA.
