Services to celebrate Kent's life are to be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Tommy Patton and Rev. Charles Banks. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Kent enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy until receiving a medical discharge. A "Jack of all Trades", Kent worked using his carpentry skills doing odd jobs and renovations for Peaches Records in New Orleans, LA for a period of 12-15 years. He was also an avid motorcyclist and loved his Harley and his biker club family.
Kent is preceded in death by his father, Myron D. France; and two brothers, Donn and John France. His memory will be cherished by those he leaves behind which include his mother, Nora J. France; and brothers, Mark D. France and wife Margie, and Todd G. France and wife Mary.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Kent's closest friend and caregiver, Barbara Layfield, for her selfless and continuous care, "You're family"; the doctors and nurses at the Veterans Administration Medical Center; and to Kent's cancer doctor, Dr. Anil Veluvolv.
