Services celebrating the life of our precious Kathy Sue Barnett Franklin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Bellaire Baptist Church in Bossier City, with Dr. Randy Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Kathy was born on April 26, 1950 to Charles Lee and Anne Runyon Barnett in Shreveport, LA. She graduated in 1969 from Northwood High School then went to Northeast Louisiana University. She realized early in life that she had a tremendous passion for cooking and became a Dietician with Caddo Parish School Board managing numerous employees and creating innovative ways in preparing nutritious meals to young children. Kathy then retired in 2004 and later began a very successful career as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. In her free time she loved working in her garden making delicious jam’s, spices, and salsa’s for her family and friends. She enjoyed working with various arts/crafts and loved her New Orleans Saints. But most of all she was a loving devoted wife and poured her heart and soul into her children and grandchildren; always giving and sharing her life knowledge to better all around her.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father and mother son Jason Lee Barnett and sisters Andrea “Andy” Barnett Toth and Peggy Ann Barnett.
She is survived by her husband Stephen Earl Franklin, sons Todd Alyn Spillers, Kyle Brent Thomas, Michael Ray Ellerd and wife Nicole Ellerd, brother Robert Bruce Barnett and wife Carren Theresa, sister M’Lou Barnett and husband Gary Ripptoe, step-children Joseph Timothy Franklin, Stephen Thomas Franklin and wife Celina Marie, Christine DeAnne Franklin Romagossa and husband Garrett Jude, Robert David Franklin and wife Jessica Noel, grandchildren, Chloe Lyn Ellerd, Karmen Jayde Harrison, and Addison Claire Ellerd, step-grandchildren Ava Marie Franklin, Adelyn Mae Franklin and Emma-Lynne Anne Romagossa and father and mother-in-law Dennis and Lucille Mae Robertson.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Thomas, Mike Ray Ellerd, Todd Spillers, Bruce Barnett, Stephen Thomas Franklin, Robby Franklin
The family would like to thank everyone who has touched and been a part of Kathy’s life; making every moment of her life filled with joy and happiness.
Kathy, we love you with all our hearts and you will be deeply missed!
