Shreveport, LA / Spring, TX - Danny “Pops” Hogan at the age of 66 went to Heaven peacefully
with his loved ones by his side on February 5, 2024 in Shreveport, LA. Danny will be lovingly
remembered as a great son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was kind, generous,
caring, with a keen sense of humor and always positive. He never met a stranger and was
always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed helping babysit his youngest granddaughters
on Friday nights, and spending time with family and friends.
Danny was born and raised in Shreveport, LA where he graduated from Huntington High School
in 1975. He moved to Houston, TX in the late 1980’s where he started a 30 year career with
Sulzer Bingham Pumps and Weir Floway Pumps. He enjoyed all sports, especially watching the
Houston Rockets and Houston Astros. He grew up riding dirt bikes and racing motocross as a
young adult. He had a passion for traveling. He enjoyed his motorcycle trips most of all with a
close group of friends. Danny’s legacy will live on forever through the stories he shared, witty
phrases he used, and many clever tips and tricks he loved to share.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Gerald P. “Jerry” Hogan and his brother, Thomas P.
Hogan (Spring, TX).
He is survived by his beautiful and loving mother, Mary Jane Hogan; his three children, Heather
Porter and husband Ian, Jon Hogan, and Lindsay Dillon and husband William “Billy”; his
brothers, Phil and wife Mary Beth (Conroe, TX), Richard (NSW, Australia), Chris and wife Tiffany
(DFW, TX), and Joe and wife Nirosha (Bahrain); his sisters, Kathy “Sunny” Cordaro and
husband Bubba, Cyndi Rowell and husband John; his grandchildren, Erin Gray, Sara Martin,
Connor Gray (Olive Branch, MS), Madison Dillon, MacKinzie Dillon, Skylar Hogan, and Reese
Porter; his great-granddaughter, Kehlani Webb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 522 E. Flournoy
Lucas Rd, Shreveport, LA on February 17th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be
Father Rothell Price. Flowers can be sent to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Danny’s favorite charity St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Danny’s “Best Friend Billy”, William B. Dillon
for caring for Danny this past year. Billy went above and beyond for Danny and our family.
