Bossier City, LA- Mr. James R. Miller age 77, passed away at home on Sunday, April 10, 2011. He was born March 29, 1934 in Manila, AR to Margrett and Thomas Miller.
Mr. Miller proudly served his country in the USAF during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, earning many distinguished metals. He was B-29 gunner during the Korean Conflict, and then went on to become a Nuclear Weapons Specialist for 17 years. James retired from the military after 24 years, and then went on and worked for the Civil Service for 14 more. He was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church and the VFW Post 5951. He loved fishing and woodworking. But most of all he was a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Miller is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, InCha; two daughters, Denise K. Welter and husband Dennis, Jacqueline A. Ness and husband Ed Rafferty; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ida and LaVon; brother, Gene; and nieces, Chanel Stokes and Sonya Kim.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park with full military honors.
