Hazel was one of the finest people I ever had the pleasure to know.  We pray that you all will be comforted by our prayers.  She will never be forgotten for she is with our Father in Heaven.  Hazel pray for us.

I AM PROUD OF YOU MOM

Mom, I was just sitting, thinking how much we as sons and daughters seek our parents’ approval. We want more than anything to make you proud of us. We seek your approval for our achievements, both personal and work. We seek your approval for our children, our home, our appearance, our behavior and many other things. But as a parent myself, I understand that while I am so proud of my children and their accomplishments (mentioned above).  As parents, we also seek approval and want our children to be equally proud of us, hence this letter.

I do not tell you near enough just how extremely proud I am to have you as my mother. I remember back on all the good times we had when I was growing up. All of the unconditional “love” you bestowed on each of us, and still do. One cannot express how wonderful it is to have a mother who is as loving and wonderful as you. I remember after each visit from Laura, Russell, Philip and I you would cry and wave goodbye when we would leave. I remember all the care you gave me when I broke my leg, even going so far as to stick your hand down in my cast when that bumble bee was dropped in it, not worrying whether it stung you or not. I remember all the times you helped when I had a broken heart. I remember all the times you came to my sporting events and cheered me on. You have always been there, never thinking of yourself, but only of us. You have demonstrated an uncommon strength dealing with Dad’s temperament, his death, your personal issues and many others too numerous to mention. After daddy’s death, we were unable to spend the time with you we would have liked, but you just kept reassuring everyone you would be OK and kept on going.
 
I am especially proud that you have always kept GOD in your life. Now that GOD is knocking on your door I am comforted knowing that you will be with HIM in HEAVEN. You will also be with daddy, Ed Rocz, grand-pa and grand-ma Carter, your parents, your brother and sisters, nieces, nephews, grand children and friends. While my heart is heavy with grief, thanks to your strength I will make through this because one day I know I will see you again. 

I have not written this to make you sad but to make you happy and let you know that I am so very proud of you. I will love you for all eternity and will see you again one day in HEAVEN.

Mrs. Carter was our neighbor and friend. She was truely an amazing person. Each time I would visit with her, she would tell me all sorts of stories that I would love to hear about. She also gave us gifts that I will treasure forever. The last gift she gave me was two months ago, it was a lighthouse collectors book of stamps. She new I collected lighthouses and she would always give me lighthouse gifts. This gift was really special because it has her name engraved on the book. I will treasure it forever and remember the beautiful lady who gave it to me. She always made me smile and we will love and miss you always Mrs. Carter. I can't drive down my drive way without remembering and missing you. 
Richard, Mike and Andy, You are in our thoughts and prayers. You had a wonderful mother.

Mrs Carter was delightful person & a real joy to be around. Her warm smile will happy attitude will be missed.

To her family ... You are in my prayers at this difficult time. 
With her memories, you will have her close in your hearts always.

Prayers and thoughts are with all of Mrs. Carter's family. She was a lovely lady with a beautiful spirit.

One of the last things she said to me was this  "They told me I came into this world crying and I choose to go out of it laughing." I am reading a book that she wanted me to read and in this book is a chapter that says "Laughter is just silent tears"..I choose to honor her with my silent tears

Dearest Laura and Mike, I can not think of anything more precious to say about a person's life than "Her first love was Christ and her faith was present in everything she did."  How very lovely. I pray that God's Holy Spirit will comfort you and yours now and forever more.

It is hard to image life without Mamaw.  Her stories, songs, and love for all of us has inspired me to be the wife and mother that I am.  I try to keep her legacy going by teaching the same to my children.  I was so blessed to live with her twice in my life and each time was full of laughter and joy.  I have so many memories that I cannot wait to share with my children and tell them how much their Mamaw loved and cherished them both.  

They day she died, I pictured Papaw and Danny standing arm in arm waiting for her with smiles on their faces.  I know she is happy and tap dancing away in heaven right now.  Mamaw, I can't wait to see you again.  Until then, keep singing those Andrew Sisters songs with me.

Mike , Richard and Andy, I remember mom so well.. her at the ball games when you boys played for Blanchard. Your mom and mime would sitting and talking  throughout the game.. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with all of you in your time of grief.  I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Carter, and she was truly a delightful person.  Hazel was a beautiful women and this reflects in her family.   May your memories of her bring you comfort.
