Florence was born on August 15, 1955 in Ft. Walton, FL and passed away on August 31, 2020 in Haughton, LA. She joined the Air Force in 1976 at just 21 years of age where she remained and for over 17 years.
Mrs. Harris enjoyed singing and listening to her favorite singer, Doris Day. She also had a very green thumb and was able to grow anything anywhere, including the sandy beaches in Florida. Mrs. Harris was known for many things, one of which being her chicken collection. She was very fond of Curious George and even known as “George” to close friends and family. She was also known to have an extensive collection of sock monkeys, from stuffed to night-lights, she loved them all.
After her service in the Air Force, she went on to get into partner, long haul, truck driving with her husband, Michael. Florence went into the caring field of nursing before she ultimately retired.
Mrs. Florence Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Harris; father, James Edward Early; mother, Bobbie Marie Mason Phillips and stepfather, James “Red” Phillips.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Dayberry; grandson, Malachi Alexander; sisters, Sandi Lewis-Griffin, Cheryl Wright and Margaret Phillips; brother, James Phillips, Jr; father of her loving daughter, James Dayberry; sisters-in-law, Alice Villar and Cece Borja; brother-in-law, Robert Paul Dayberry; her second set of loving parents, Robert and Mary Dayberry; and her close friend Debra Boyd Gooden.
