Edman Lee James, 82, passed away at his home in Shreveport, LA, on February 28, 2010. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend James Hoover officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Edman served in the US Navy during WWII and Korea, was a member of the Mason’s and the Red Cross of Constantine, and the VFW. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edman is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 46 years, Mary Ellen James, brother, Bobby James, and sisters, Edna Holyfield and Gloria Shaw. He is survived by his son, Edman “Skip” James, Jr. and wife Debra, son, Jerry Brian James and wife Nancy, and daughter, Beckie Willis and husband Kenneth. He also leaves his grandchildren: Bobby Willis, Christopher James, Stacey Hopper, Kelly Killian, Amy Smith, and Samantha Askegren, great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Killian, Konley Killian, Brittany Willis, Breanna Willis, Jessica Massey, Emily Hopper, Chandler Smith, and Matthew James, and very special friends Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Moore.
