On April 25, 2024 Dianne Louise Sanchez took her last breath on earth and then opened her eyes in the presence of our Lord and Savior. We believe she was greeted by our Savior and heard the words “Well done my faithful servant”.
Dianne was born September 17, 1945 to James and Harriet Rachal. She is preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, James Albin. Dianne is survived by many loved ones: her husband of almost 57 years, Ruben Sanchez; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Ashley Sanchez; grandson, Wyatt Sanchez; sister and brother-in-law, June and Bonnie Lee; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Tonny Rachal; brother and sister-in-law, Micheal and Helen Rachal; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Debbie Rachal, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Dianne spent 57 years dedicated to her marriage to Ruben. They were role models to Jason and the rest of the family of how a marriage should look. Her love for Ruben and Jason were examples of Christ’s love. She spent her life ensuring they were cared for, fed well, and knew Jesus. She can rest peacefully knowing her boys knew how loved they were.
Dianne was affectionately known as Mama D to the many children she cared for in her home. Each of those children held a special place in her heart. She kept the name “Mama D” until the love of her life, Wyatt, came along. He then changed her name to D. She was the proudest D around and was loved fiercely! She adored Wyatt, and Wyatt adored her!
Besides watching Wyatt grow up, Dianne loved being back home in Marco surrounded by her family. You could always find her frying chicken, whipping up something homemade like meat pies and tamales for her family, or sitting at the round table ready for some fun with the women in her family that she cherished. She was also an avid bowler at Holiday Lanes for many years.
Dianne also loved Jesus. She was devoted to her Lord and maintained a strong faith and relationship with Him. She prayed about everything and knew to keep her trust in Him. Due to her faith, her family takes comfort in knowing we will one day see her again.
Her family will host a visitation for friends at Hillcrest Funeral Home on Monday, April 29 from 6 pm to 8 pm. On Tuesday, April 30 there will be a visitation at 1 pm at Holy Family Chapel (Monet Ferry) in Lena, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Family Chapel at 2 pm with a burial at Rachal Cemetery to follow with Rev. Christian Ogbonna presiding.
Her pallbearers will be Wyatt Sanchez, Joe Rachal, Tim Moran, Noah Cheek, Eric Lee, and Randy Rachal. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and great nephews who she loved dearly.
