BOSSIER CITY, LA – Funeral services celebrating the life of Dewey Low, Jr., age 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Eastwood Baptist Church in Haughton, LA with Brother Scott Teutsch officiating. Committal services will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at the funeral home.
Mr. Low was born November 28, 1934 in Tupelo, AR to Dewey Low, Sr. and Gallie Priscilla Gray. He passed away November 14, 2012 at his residence in Bossier City, LA surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Of Methodist faith, Mr. Low was a graduate of Newport High School in Newport, AR and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years before retiring June 30, 1978 as a Master Sergeant. A veteran of the Vietnam War from 1970-1971, he served overseas in Germany, Guam and Azores. Mr. Low resided in Bossier City for over 40 years, working in the dry cleaning and laundry business for 11 years and serving 7 years as a civilian at Barksdale AFB.
His parents and a son, Marty Low; sisters, Augustine Grimes and Minnie Bell Casey and brother, E.B. Low precede Mr. Low in death.
Mr. Low is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Patricia Low; daughter-in-law, Lisa Low; daughter, Sharon Davis and husband, Chuck; son, James Low and wife, Karyn; son, Tim Low and wife, DeAnn; son, Joey Low and wife, Athena; 12 grandchildren; and10 great-grandchildren.
Honoring Mr. Low as pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family wishes to thank the staff of STAT Home Health, St. Joseph’s Hospice, Willis Knighton Cancer Treatment Center and Willis Knighton of Bossier for their caring support toward the end of Mr. Low’s life.
