On Saturday, December 19, 2020, God called Craig Allan Shaw home. Craig lived a full life in the 61 years we all had the honor of having him as part our lives. Craig was born and raised in Bossier City, La. He has been a resident of Walker, LA for the past two and half years.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marcia Findley-Shaw, his son Cody and wife Jessica and wonderful grandson Beau, his son Will and wife Shelby, his mother Martha Eliese, brothers Eric and Rudy and sister Stephanie along with countless other family and friends. Craig’s dad Richard Shaw joined Craig in walking the gold streets of heaven almost exactly 24 hours after Craig.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. His life celebration will be at 10:00 with interment to follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery.
Craig was a wonderful and devoted Dad, Pops, husband, father-in-law, son, son-in-law, employee, friend, neighbor and the list could go one. There are not enough words to describe how proud he was of Cody and Will. You all know there was no way to have even a short conversation with Craig without him bragging on his boys. They were the true beat of his heart and every breath he took. That love only grew greater when his boys brought his precious daughters in love into the family. Craig was as devoted to them and loved them just as they were his own daughters. Becoming a Pops (grandpa) brought joy to Craig like nothing we had ever seen. We don’t know if he or Beau light up more when they saw each other. Craig showed us all what unconditional love. Craig was a wonderful example to his sons of what a Christian husband should be. His devotion to his family was his driving force. He was always willing to drop everything he was doing, drive how ever far he had to if someone needed help.
Craig began working for Orbit Valves when he was 19 years old. It did not take long for his supervisors to realize that Craig had a special gift for this career field. This year Craig celebrated 37 years with Schlumberger, who now owns Orbit Valve. Craig wasn’t just gifted when it came to fixing valves. Craig mentored and touched so many people in that 37 years. Craig dealt with coworkers and customers with his heart. He worked tirelessly in order to make sure his people and customers were taken care of.
There are not enough words in this universe to describe the wonderful man Craig was. Anyone that had the honor of knowing him was a better person for it. He leaves a hole in the lives of so many that will never be filled.
Everyone knows that Craig had a huge heart and loved people. Growing up his neighbor Denisse Mason was stricken with cancer as a teenager. Craig visited her at St. Jude during her time there. Craig was very touched by all that St. Jude does for kids and their families. He has always said if he had a lot of extra money St. Jude would be the one place he would want to give as much as possible to. So, we ask that in lieu of flowers that a donations is made to St. Jude in memory of Craig at www.stjude.org
